March 23, 2023 Baby Shower
Thank you Diane Walker for organizing a shower for us!

A Difficult Loss
While this has been a year of rejoicing for our nation, we at Birthright have suffered a terrible loss. One of our volunteers, Kim Maish, who was a former client, passed away after succumbing to cancer. Please keep Kim’s family in your prayers. Kim was very young and leaves behind her husband and three children. If you’d like to learn more about her, you can view her obituary here.

A heart-felt THANK YOU to the Renaissance Club from National Trail School! They changed out the summer clothing for the winter. They also cleaned, swept and vacuumed all the floors. They were a remarkable group of young people.

It is with a heavy heart that we share of the passing of Bob Walsh. Bob was instrumental in starting Birthright of Eaton more than 20 years ago. We are grateful to Bob for his leadership, compassion for the pre-born and their mothers, and resolve to make a difference in his community. You will be greatly missed Mr. Walsh.

Healing Hearts is a confidential group for those who have suffered loss due to miscarriage. Healing Hearts offers a safe and understanding environment in which to listen and share with others who have walked the same path. Our stories may be different, but our emotions are the same. Together we can heal hearts one at a time.
Healing Hearts begins Monday, September 13, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The group is free, but registration is required. Call or text Tamara at (937) 733-7743.

A Rose Among Ashes is starting a new ABORTION RECOVERY GROUP. The group will begin Tuesday, August 3, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. and will meet for 9 weeks.
For more information about the class, materials and location, contact Tamara at (937) 733-7743.

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to inform you that on Sunday evening, surrounded by friends and family, Russell Robert, Melanie’s husband went home to be with his Lord. The obituary can be viewed at rlcfc.com. There is visitation on Tuesday December 1 from 3-6 p.m. at the Castine Church.

On Sunday, February 9, the Birthright family lost one of our own. Kathy Overbey was very suddenly taken from us, and our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Jim and the family as they navigate this very difficult time in their lives.
Kathy came to Birthright in 2009. She volunteered because “God is calling me to do this.”
Kathy was quick to help, kind, gracious and gentle. On more than one occasion she filled in for extended times until a more permanent volunteer could be found. She was affirming and encouraging to all. She will be greatly missed.

Instead of a White Elephant gift exchange, the Eaton Community Church BASICS small group held an auction of items that group members were ready to part with but that others wanted. The bidding was intense, and at the end of the night, funds were raised and split between two non-profits, Birthright was one of the recipients. What a creative way to have some fun and benefit your favorite charity! Thanks to the BASICS group for your generous donation.

Thank you to Eaton Community Church for sharing some of the proceeds from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe with us in November. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
